T. Joseph Melham merged his firm, T. Joseph Melham & Associates, which he owned and operated for 15 years, with Financial Synergies Agency, Inc. and became a partner in June 1990. Mr. Melham was Director of Sales for American Bankers Life Insurance Company from January 1972 until January 1975 at their headquarters in Miami, Florida. His duties included the recruiting and training of regional sales directors and conducting seminars throughout the various regions in the United States.
During his three years with American Bankers Life, he achieved an increase in the sales force from 200 to 2,174 with an increase premium income from $ 44 million to $ 97 million which resulted in the increase stock value from $ 8.20 per share to $ 35.00 per share.
Mr. Melham began his career with Franklin Life Insurance Company of Springfield, Illinois in 1966 as District Sales Manager at their home office. Three years as General Agent with Franklin Life in Houston where he ranked 4th in the nation for production from 1968 - 1971.
His industry memberships include, the National Association of Life Underwriters - Life Member, Houston Association of Life Underwriters and the Million Dollar Round Table and is active in their various programs.
He received his B.A. from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1966 and attends various financial industry schools during his career.
Mr. Melham is a member of Palmer Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas; he is also a Knight in the Order of St. John of Jerusalem - Knights of Malta and an Admiral in the Texas Navy.
